The Cabot Police Department received information about inappropriate contact between a paraprofessional and a female student at the Junior High South School in Cabot. Youth Pastor Arrested for Sex Assault

A Garland youth pastor was arrested for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old, possession of child porn, and online solicitation of a minor, Sachse police say. Derek Hutter, 37, is a youth minister at South Garland Baptist Church and the alleged victim is a Sachse resident. The girl's parents first alerted police to the situation on Oct. 3 after they discovered an email from Hutter to their daughter asking her to perform and photograph herself performing sexually-explicit acts. Registered Offender Facing New Sexual Charge

A registered juvenile sex offender is facing a new sexual-battery charge after investigators say he had sex with a 15-year-old girl, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. Eric Tucker, 18, was charged with lewd and lascivious battery after investigators learned about the sexual relationship he had with a 16-year-old girl and that it had started when she was 15, according to an arrest report. Sex Offender Rapes 16-Year-Old

A registered sex offender was arrested on Oct. 15 in Springdale after police say he spied on a 16-year-old girl while she showered and had previously raped her when she was younger. Harry Robinson, 50, was booked into the Washington County Detention Center and faces charges of rape, voyeurism and an unspecified civil matter, according to the jail's intake report. Read more...

Mom Discovers Boyfriend Is Sex Offender

A 5-year-old boy is safe after being beaten with a rope thanks to an eyewitness who quickly alerted authorities, and officials said the man who was hurting the child is a registered sex offender. Police officials said 39-year-old Jason Newton was violently whipping the child. Officers responded to the witnesses' report, arrested Newton and returned the boy to his mother. Newton is the mother's boyfriend and a registered sex offender. Police said boy's mother was not aware the man is a sex offender. Read more...

A 15-year-old Pennridge High School student is charged as an adult with crimes including attempted rape and sexual assault after he allegedly used a kitchen knife he brought to school in his boot Oct. 17, to threaten a 15-year-old girl and a teacher, and forced the girl into a bathroom stall at the school. Couple Enter Pleas In Child Abuse Case

Two of three Casper residents facing various charges connected to a child abuse and endangerment case, have entered their pleas in court, and one of them is back in custody. Twenty-five year old Stephanie Shirts has pleaded not guilty to four counts of child abuse, one count of aggravated child abuse, and four counts of child endangerment meth. Meanwhile, 25-year old Bobbi Humphreys has pleaded not guilty to four charges of child endangerment meth and one charge of child endangerment. Read more...

Police Release Sketch of Wanted Offender

Police have released a sketch of a man wanted for attempting to sexually assault a woman in a neighborhood off Cliffdale Road on Oct. 4. The woman told police that a man broke into her residence in the Beaver Run subdivision and tried to sexually assault her. She told detectives with the Special Victims Unit that she did not know the man. She escaped to a neighbor's house. Read more...

Man Charged With Rape of 100-Year-Old

Kansas authorities charged a Wichita man in the sexual assault and burglary of a 100-year-old woman during a break-in at her home. Kasey Nesbitt, 35, was charged with rape and aggravated burglary. The woman, who lives alone, told police that intruders forced open the door of her home on Sept. 29. She says they were in her home for several hours. Pensacola Man Charged With Rape, Robbery

A Pensacola man has been arrested for allegedly raping and robbing a woman at gunpoint, according to an Escambia County Sheriff's Office arrest report. Teen Suffers Life-Threatening Sex Injuries

The Christian County, Kentucky, Sheriff's Office made four arrests in the violent sexual assault of a teenage boy early. Deputies took the initial report about a 15-year-old Hopkinsville, Kentucky, male who was assaulted at a residence on Lafayette Road in Hopkinsville and then taken to Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville to be treated for serious physical injury, according Sheriff's Capt. Airplane Passenger Accused of Sexual Assault

A Japan Airlines flight had to return to Honolulu after a male passenger sexually assaulted a female passenger in the airplane's bathroom, the FBI said. FBI agents arrested Michael Tanouye, 29, of Hilo, at Honolulu International Airport for interfering with a flight crew and aggravated sexual assault aboard an aircraft. The sexual assault charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. Read more...

Sunday School Teacher Confesses to Sex Abuse

A Kentucky Sunday school teacher confessed to sexually abusing one of his 16-year-old students after he was arrested, police said. Rex Allen Murphy, a 30-year-old teacher at Polly Ann Church of God in Eubank, Ky., was charged with sexual assault, sodomy and the use of a minor in a sexual performance, police chief Colin Hatfield said. Murphy allegedly touched the male victim inappropriately at church and at Murphy's home, with at least 10 incidents of sexual abuse over the course of six months, police said. Read more...

Police Name Suspect in Rape of 91-Year-Old

A Crime Stoppers tipster recognized a surveillance camera photo and identified the suspect as 29-year-old Conard Hargest. He is charged with sexually assaulting the elderly victim on October 1 in southwest Houston. The suspect walked into the Creekbend Gardens retirement home and into the victim's apartment around 3 a.m. After assaulting her, he stole money from her wallet and fled. Read more...

A Mid-South father is facing child abuse and neglect charges after a spanking that left bruises on his 6-year-old son. Tony Johnson lost custody of his son temporarily after admitting that his 6-year-old's bruises were the result of a spanking. Juvenile court reunited the two in April. A Pennsylvania man has been charged with child endangerment after police say a 9-year-old boy who was staying at his home died of an apparent drug overdose. Police say 58-year-old Victor Hare was aware the boy had used the prescription drug oxycodone and alcohol in the past yet allowed him to stay in his house with both alcohol and oxycodone "readily available." Rabbi Arrested on Voyeurism Charge

A prominent modern Orthodox rabbi at a Georgetown synagogue was arrested by D.C. police and charged with voyeurism involving a hidden camera, according to a department spokeswoman. Barry Freundel, 62, of the Kesher Israel Congregation, was being held in police custody and was likely to have an initial appearance in D.C. Superior Court. Minneapolis Officer Accused of Sex Assault

A Minneapolis woman who says she was sexually assaulted during an arrest earlier this year has filed a $50,000 lawsuit against a police officer. According to the lawsuit, the Minneapolis officer, Donnell Crayton, was called to the area of Park Avenue S. between 18th and 19th Street for a disturbance involving the woman's boyfriend and two security guards. She alleges that he groped her breast during the pat-down, despite her insistence on being searched by a female officer. Read more...

Teacher Pleads Not Guilty to Child Rape

A Siloam Springs teacher accused of raping a 13-year-old boy, says she's not guilty. Mary McCormick pleaded not guilty in Benton County court. Siloam Springs police say McCormick had a sexual relationship with the boy this summer, and that the two exchanged inappropriate messages and pictures on their phones. According to the police report, McCormick sent the boy, a former student, a Snapchat picture of her breasts. The teen told investigators he and McCormick had sex twice. Read more...

Church Youth Worker Charged With Assault

Police have accused a Leander man of sexually assaulting a teenage girl that he met while working with her youth group at church, according to an arrest warrant. Kristopher Kloc, 25, was charged Oct. 9 with sexual assault of a child. The teenage girl — who was under the age of 16 — told police that she had talked to him and arranged for him to pick her up outside her house on Sept. 8. Brothers Face Charges in Bel Air Rape

Authorities said the attack was reporte at the parking garage on South Hickory Avenue in downtown Bel Air. Investigators said the victim, a 29-year-old woman, told detectives she was confronted by two men she didn't know and raped. She was taken to Harford Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation. The incident was caught on surveillance video as the man committed the acts near a bench outside the station, in view of other people. A man accused of severely beating a 3-year-old boy — fracturing a bone near his eye, causing bruising all over and even biting him — was known to be violent, Las Vegas police said. Anthony Benjamin Castro, 21, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center and is facing two counts of child abuse with substantial bodily harm and one count of child abuse neglect, according to a police report. Sex Offender Arrested for Lewd Acts

A man was arrested in Desert Hot Springs after police received reports that he was masturbating inside his truck while watching students nearby at the Boys & Girls Club. The club was not open at the time of the incident. Police said 27-year-old Michael De la Rocha, a registered sex offender, was sitting in his parked truck when the indecent exposure was reported. Woman Charged With Child Abuse and Neglect

Sullivan County Sheriff's Office deputies were notified by the Kingsport Police Department that children were by themselves on Joann Street. KPD officers said they believed the children lived in Hidden Acres Court, which is just outside the Kingsport city limits. Deputies went to the home, where they found the front door open and a woman, Jeanne Reed, asleep. Reed, 25, is the children's mother. Read more...

Couple Sentenced in Child Endangerment Case

A Wichita couple who left their 18-month-old son in an apartment closet have been sentenced to one year of probation. 18-year-old Destiny Lee and 19-year-old Donivan Turner pleaded guilty to misdemeanor child endangerment charges. A maintenance worker repairing an air conditioner in May found the boy inside a closet in the couple's apartment. Police say the temperature in the closet was about 90 degrees. The baby had been there about 20 minutes. Lee tells police she left her son alone in order to pick up Turner from work. Read more...

Physician Charged With Felony Child Abuse

A high-ranking physician at St. Luke's Hospital has been charged with two counts of felony child abuse/neglect and one count of misdemeanor assault, authorities said. Dr. Carrie C. Morrison, 53, was charged with the offenses that stem from an incident Sept. 21 at Morrison's home, Chesterfield police Lt. Michael Thompson said. Priest Stripped of Duties, Fined

A 30-year-old priest who maintained an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl for seven months was stripped of his priestly duties, and a judge fined him for endangering the teen. The Rev. James Michael Taylor was permanently removed from the ministry in the Albany Catholic Diocese for kissing, sending texts and calling a minor in Clifton Park from last October through May, Bishop Edward B. A Montgomery County woman was arrested for allegedly buying heroin and then sharing it with her 15-year-old daughter and her daughter's boyfriend. Mom Locks 3 Children in Hot Car

A mother was arrested on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment after allegedly locking her three children in a hot car on Monday in Simi Valley. Officers responded to a disturbance call at Grand American Tires in the 1800 block of East Los Angeles Avenue (map) about 3:40 p.m. and located the woman described in the report at a nearby animal hospital, according to a news release from the Simi Valley Police Department. A four-year-old girl turned up at a nursery school with 200 bags of heroin and handed the Class A out like sweets to friends, according to police. Shocked child carers called the police after they spotted children with wraps of the illegal drug. The headmaster of an elite California Bay Area private school resigned in disgrace after he was caught in a hotel room with a stash of hard drugs and a passed-out 21-year-old woman. Thomas Price, 54, the now-former headmaster of Branson School, was busted at the Hyatt Place hotel in Rancho Cordova with a large stash of heroin, meth, cocaine, prescription pills and a young blond, Brittney Hall, passed out in the makeshift drug den's bed. Man Guilty of Child Endangerment, Animal Neglect

A Mason City man has pleaded guilty to animal neglect, child endangerment and domestic abuse assault. Dacota Alan Witham, 27, will be sentenced in Cerro Gordo County District Court. Police were initially called on Aug. 9 for an assault. After an investigation, officers discovered a dog in Witham's garage that had been killed in an inhumane manner, according to police. Good Samaritan Rescues Baby in Car

A 20-year-old woman was arrested for leaving her 10-month-old boy alone in a car while she went shopping at a Long Island store after a good Samaritan who heard the child crying pried open the vehicle with a car antenna and called police, authorities say. Police responding to the 911 call found the baby's mother, Tirza Artiga-Acosta, at the Huntington Station complex on East Jericho Turnpike and arrested her on child endangerment charges.
