We will never host same-sex weddings even if they become legal in Illinois. We believe homosexuality is wrong and unnatural based on what the Bible says about it. If that is discrimination, I guess we unfortunately discriminateThe couple filed a complaint with the Illinois Department of Human Rights, which investigated and found "substantial evidence" that a civil rights violation had been committed.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Ends: Ban on Gays Serving Openly in Military Is Repealed

“Don’t Ask, Don't Tell" is no more. When the clock struck midnight today, the nearly 18-year-old policy that barred gay and lesbian service members from serving openly in the military was fully repealed.As part of the repeal, the Defense Department plans to issue new guidelines and regulations to the military services informing them that the ban is no longer in effect. They will be posted on the Pentagon’s website, along with a quick reference guide that includes the most frequently asked questions about what will change with repeal.Aside from the guidelines, the Pentagon is taking a low-key approach to the end of the policy that led to the discharge of almost 13,000 service members over its lifetime. Aside from a news conference where Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen will discuss the change in policy, no other official DOD events are planned.

City Priest Faces Sex Assault Charge

A Hamilton Catholic priest has been charged with sexual assault. Father Jose Silva, 34, a popular parish priest at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Park Street North for the past two years, was arrested by Hamilton police Thursday afternoon.

Preacher accused of child molestation

An 86-year-old preacher is accused of molesting a girl several times over an eight-year period, police said Thursday. Clarence Caldwell Arquitt Jr., of Sanford, N.C., refused to return to Georgia to face charges of child molestation and sodomy, Lt. Steve Rose with Sandy Springs police said. Instead, Arquitt was arrested and booked into the Lee County, N.C., jail, but was released after posting $30,000 bond, Rose said. Arquitt is fighting being extradited to Georgia. The victim, now in her 20s, told police Arquitt molested her from the time she was 3 years old until she was 11, Rose said. The molestation occurred at Arquitt's Woodstock home and later at his home in Sandy Springs, police said.
