Albuquerque’s community college has extended insurance benefits to domestic partners of unmarried faculty and staff members. The Governing Board of Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute voted 6-1 Tuesday to change the school’s policy. In May, the New Mexico Public Schools Insurance Authority agreed to allow such coverage. The authority provides health insurance to TVI. The domestic partners can be of the same or opposite sex.
