Columbia -- A former Columbia police officer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy. Richland County prosecutors say Charles R. McKnight, 33, was arrested last November after investigators seized videotape showing McKnight engaging in sex with the boy. An arrest warrant says the crime occurred between May 2002 and November 2003.
