Pagans' Crone Celebration

Local church's celebrate a woman's wisdom
BLOOMFIELD — About the time the sun slipped from the sky, the Pagan Church of the Sacred Pentacle drew its circle. "I draw thee ... be thee a holy place of worship," Heidi Gleber said as she walked three times around the edge of the white circle on the ground. As she spoke, she pointed a wand outward toward the edges of her one-acre lawn, essentially drawing the circle large enough that the Pagan children playing nearby could come and go while their parents did spiritual work and honored a member entering her later years. The ceremony for Shanna Schoenfeldt marked what the Pagans call the crone stage of life. It was a celebration of the wisdom that comes from living. Posted by Editor at July 25, 2005 10:19 AM
