R. Kelly Child Pornography Case to Move Forward

A Chicago judge has denied a motion from R. Kelly’s lawyers to dismiss child pornography charges against the singer after the defense argued that the prosecution’s time window in which the offenses were supposed to have occurred was too vague. Judge Vincent Gaughan of the Cook County Criminal Court said the 14-count indictment against Robert Kelly, 36, would stand and "the evidence is sufficient for Mr. Kelly to prepare a defense." The prosecution says it has a tape showing the Grammy-winner engaging in sexual acts with a girl they believe was 14. The tape, the prosecution claims, was recorded sometime between January 1998 and November 1, 2000. Posted by Editor at November 1, 2005 08:11 AM
