Accused Molester's Teaching License Revoked
A former Bay District principal's teaching certificate has been revoked permanently by the state nearly two years after he resigned amid accusations of having sexual relations with a student. David Creel, now 59, moved to Panama City from Georgia in 1976 and taught at Mosley and Bay high schools before becoming assistant principal at Jinks Middle School in 1983. Three years later, Creel was moved to New Horizons Learning Center, where he served as principal until November 2006, according to the school district’s Human Resources Director Tommy Lou Richardson. In October 2006, a woman e-mailed members of the School Board to inform them of her long-term affair with Creel, which she stated began in 1982 when she was 15 and attending Bay High School. Creel got her pregnant while she was at Bay High and paid for her to get an abortion. After graduation, she said he helped her get a job at Everitt Middle School.
