Man Sues for Abuse by Mormon Youth Minister in the 1970s

A man who claims he was molested as a boy by a representative of the Mormon church in Southeast Portland is suing the church for $20 million. The man, whom The Oregonian isn't naming because he's an alleged victim of sexual abuse, claims that he was repeatedly abused in the 1970s by James Hogan, a volunteer youth minister in the Twelfth Stake in the 2900 block of Southeast Harrison Street. Randall Vogt, the attorney who filed the suit, said Hogan was a Boy Scout leader, but abused the boy while working as a representative of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
