Former Teacher Jennifer Mally Gets 6 Months for Sex Crime
A former Arizona teacher has been sentenced to six months in jail for having a sexual relationship with one of her students at Paradise Valley High School. Jennifer Mally, 27, pleaded guilty in March to three felony charges of sexual conduct with a 16-year-old student. Mally, a former English teacher and cheerleader sponsor, could have received up to six years for the three felonies. PHOENIX -- A former Paradise Valley High School teacher was sentenced Friday to six months in prison for sexual conduct with a student. In March, Jennifer Mally pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual conduct with a minor. She received six months in prison for each count. The counts will run concurrently. The former teacher was arrested last May accused of having sex with a 16-year-old boy at her school. That boy's parents say the relationship may date back to 2006.

A former teacher at Paradise Valley High School was sentenced Friday to six months in jail for a sexual relationship with one of her students. Jennifer Mally, 27, was facing up to six years behind bars when she was sentenced in Maricopa County Superior Court. "As you well know, you, not the victim, are the adult," the judge told Mally. "You had every opportunity to stop the relationship from developing to the point where inappropriate sexual conduct occurred, yet you chose instead to participate." Mally wept as the judge lectured her.
