For 18 years Carl Panzram was a one-man crime wave, robbing, raping and murdering from coast to coast, on the high seas, and in 30 countries. But no one knew his name or anything about him, or even guessed that his many crimes were the work of one man, until November 1928. That's when the 38-year-old felon produced a chronicle of his life work, including stomach-turning details of his assaults and murders, along with a sprinkling of his unique philosophy. "In my lifetime I have murdered 21 human beings, I have committed thousands of burglaries, robberies, arsons and last but not least I have committed sodomy on more than 1,000 male human beings," Panzram wrote. "For all of these things I am not the least bit sorry.
