Sanford's Argentine Mistress Speaks Out
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- A 41-year-old Argentine woman has acknowledged having a relationship with South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford. In a statement sent to news network C5n of Buenos Aires, Maria Belen Chapur says she will not talk about her private life. But she says e-mail exchanges with Sanford that were widely published by U.S. media and elsewhere were obtained by someone who hacked her account. She denies the hacker was a friend of hers. Chapur says she suspects she knows who the hacker is but will not identify him, because she lacks proof and for legal reasons.
