Homosexual Paediatricians Used Their Practice to Molest Boys for More Than 20 Years

The Blankenburg twin brothers are well-known paediatricians with a successful practice. Not only did they share their practice, but the brothers lived together, were not married and were amateur photographers who took lots of pictures for a high school in their community of Hamilton in Ohio. Now, they can add one more thing in common - being accused of using their practice to molest boys for more than 20 years. On Friday, an Ohio court found one of them, Mark Blankenburg, 53, guilty. His twin brother, Scott Blankenburg, will be tried in April next year, reported AFP. The men are being tried separately because the judge ruled that their identical appearances might confuse the jury. In all, they face 76 charges of engaging in sex crimes with minors at their practice in the industrial city of Hamilton, sometimes paying the victims some US$200 ($280), prosecutors said.

Ohio Doctor Guilty Of Sex Crimes; Twin Awaits Trial
HAMILTON, Ohio -- A jury has found a southwest Ohio pediatrician guilty of 16 sex-related charges involving former patients. A Butler County jury on Friday convicted 53-year-old Dr. Mark Blankenburg of gross sexual imposition, corruption of a minor, compelling prostitution and other charges. Blankenburg's twin brother, also a pediatrician, faces trial on 22 similar charges in April. A judge will determine Mark Blankenburg's guilt on 25 remaining counts that include bribery and drug trafficking.

Judge Still Considering Charges Against Blankenburg
HAMILTON, Ohio -- A Butler County judge could decide as early as Tuesday on some additional charges filed against a former pediatrician convicted on sex charges. A jury found Mark Blankenburg guilty on Friday on all 16 charges before them, including gross sexual imposition, pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, corruption of a minor and compelling prostitution.

Blankenburg Victims' Courage Praised
The sordid, disturbing tale of a Hamilton pediatrician convicted Friday of molesting four former patients when they were boys is far from over. Dr. Mark Blankenburg still faces many more charges in a strange, complex case that provides a glimpse into the seedy world of "compliant" child sex-abuse victims and those who prey on them, said Butler County Prosecutor Robin Piper. His twin brother, Scott, faces similar charges. "I've never heard of a case anywhere with all of these unique facts and circumstances," said Piper, a prosecutor for 25 years. "You have identical twins, which is unusual. They both go into medical school and both become doctors, which is unusual. They live together, that's unusual. And then to both be charged with this pattern of criminal activity, it's just extremely unique and bizarre."
