Del. Priest Sex Abuse Lawsuit Goes To Jury
WILMINGTON, Del. -- A jury was to begin deliberating Tuesday in the first trial stemming from Delaware law allowing alleged victims of child sexual abuse to sue for abuse that happened long ago. After a week of testimony, attorneys presented closing arguments Monday in a lawsuit filed by James Sheehan, 63, against the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales and Salesianum School in Wilmington. Sheehan's attorneys argued that the Oblates and Salesianum can be held liable under the 2007 Child Victims Act because they were grossly negligent in allowing the late priest Francis Norris to teach at Salesianum, where Sheehan claims he was abused in 1962.Click Here For The Full Story......
