Liberty City Rev. Gaston Smith Convicted of Theft
A Miami-Dade jury on Friday convicted the Rev. Gaston Smith, of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, of looting a county grant of $10,000. After three hours of deliberations, the jury tasked with judging Miami Rev. Gaston Smith sent out a note asking the judge some very direct questions. What records existed to show Smith snagged a generous grant from the Burger King company? Was there any evidence he helped create a Liberty City senior citizens garden?
