Statutory Rape & Murder: Ex-High School Coach Guilty In Teen Sex Case
TUSCOLA COUNTY, Mich. -- A former Owendale-Gagetown softball coach accused of having sex with an underage girl on his team has been found guilty by a Tuscola County jury. Cory D. Fritz, 27, of Sebewaing, was ruled guilty Monday after a three-day trial on five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. It took a jury of 11 women and one man four hours of deliberation to reach a verdict. Tuscola County Prosecutor Mark Reene had charged Frtiz with 20 counts. During testimony, the team member, who was 14 years old at the time, admitted to becoming pregnant while having a relationship with Fritz during her sophomore year at Owendale-Gagetown between the summer of 2005 and the spring of 2006. She also said that Fritz helped her dispose of the baby's body, but the defense questioned the existence of the baby.Click Here For The Full Story......
